I'm currently working on the final revision of the novel 2076. This process has gone slowly, though much thanks are in order towards a fine young group of writer's who I've work with since 2007, the Somerquillians. There are two drafts (published April '09 and July '07) available for download on the 2076 website. I expect to publish the final version of the novel on the site sometime during the first quarter of 2010, produce a audiobook, and sell it through Amazon.com next summer.
Published on October 6, 2009... An Illustrated Storybook: Polar Bears by Rob Van Dyk.
This is a fun project I started on a whim. Instead of typing out verbose paragraphs with rich-textual descriptions I hit up the Wikipedia Featured Pictures archive and found a wonderful shot of the USS Honolulu and some polar bears. From here, I browsed Google Images for public domain high-resolution pictures related to polar bears by searching on "site:gov" with various terms related to polar bears and setting a target for only "large images". The rest is history.
I must say, the quantity and quality of pictures available is fairly limitted, but it's amazing what you can do with what's out there.
A future project that I'd like to work on is a novel called Youthful Exuberance that I conceived a number of years ago. This project is on the back burner.
